MemRabel, is a stylish timepiece developed to assist people with dementia, learning disabilities and people with cognitive problems live a more independent life. To associate time in relation to daylight and night time hours, the clock displays daylight hours with an icon of the sun and an icon of the moon for night time hours. The large black digits with yellow lit background make time viewing easy, even for the sight impaired.

MemRabel can be used as a daily time clock, alarm clock and voice memory aid/reminder. MemRabel also has features that aid care of people with the above conditions to provide warnings and alarms.

MemRabel has four alarm time reminders with the option to record a different voice memo for each alarm. The message is played back at alarm time. The duration of the repeated alarm playback can be set for 3, 6, or 9 minutes. Alarms can be set for hourly, daily or weekly playback. Memos can be used to remind of tasks, medicine reminders or instructions. MemRabel also has an instant message recorder/player if a quick memory jogger is required.

MemRabel can be used in a number of ways to control timed events. MemRabel has an alarm input socket that can be connected to various devices such as, pressure pad sensors, door contact alarms, or any device offering a volt free switch. A message can then be recorded for playback triggered by any of the above. Additionally, MemRabel has two alarm outputs. Output 1 provides a momentary switch in response to all time set alarms, 1-4. Output 2 can be set to provide an emergency alarm output if an alarm message has not been cancelled/acknowledged by the user. A delayed alarm of 3, 6, or 9 minutes can be selected. A pager transmitter or telephone auto dialler for example, can be triggered by output 2 to warn a live in or off site carer of a potential problem.

When using the MemRabel to control alarms from other sensors, it is possible to select an “on” and “off” time for when the trigger input is active. This feature can provide timed switching control for numerous applications. This feature only controls the trigger input 1.

MemRabel has large screen icons that flash when a timed alarm event is active. Icons can be selected for food, medicine, alarm clock, telephone or no icon.

MemRabel can be operated from mains power adaptor or 4 x AA batteries, and can be used table top with the built in stand, or wall mounted with the fixings provided
